I am very sure that by now many Postgraduate Students have tried to ballot to get a slot in any of the Postgraduate Hall namely, Erastus Akingbola and Henry Carr Hall. Students should ignore the “spaces occupied” option and keep trying as more spaces are still being allocated daily.
First of all, it should be noted that only Students registered for 2016/2017 Session can ballot for hostel.
Masters Students just admitted in the 2016/2017 Session as well as M.Phil/Ph.D. Students that have not exceeded the maximum four (4) years allowed for PG students in the Halls of Residence are permitted to take part in the exercise.
It should be noted that balloting and application will be done via student’s portal here
Students should just log on to the online portal with their password; the link to apply or ballot for Hostel space will be seen in due time and this should be clicked. Students are advised to keep checking the portal at interval.

Here is a better step by step procedure for the exercise;
1. Visit the student portal by clicking here or alternatively visit the Unilag Spgs website – spgs.unilag.edu.ng and assess the current student link and then supply your login details namely, application number/matriculation number and surname in lowercase or changed password as password .
2. When you login in you will see the “hostel application/get a space”. Click on this and proceed with your application. If you are successful you will be required to download payment advice. After this you are expected to make payment within 48 or 72 hours after which students may loose the space if they fail to pay.
If the procedure seems difficult you may visit any of the Cybercafes on campus for assistance, I recommend T-World Resources located at Shop 5, Jaja Shopping Complex, opposite Jaja Hall that is just beside Erastus Akingbola Hall. Their internet and power backup is top notch.
